Thank You for taking an interest and for volunteering for our e-Campaign Team.  We believe strongly in the power of Social-media, New-media and of course the power of the individual.

You can be and in fact ARE a key element to our over-all success as a team.

We do not doubt for a moment that every day our campaign will be impacted in some way by social media be it positive or negative. (with your help, mostly positive!)  That being said there are tons of things we can do to have a positive impact and blend our e-Campaign with our traditional campaign.

We have watched many campaigns create a profile on some social media site and start telling everyone they know who will listen about their campaign, but is that really the way to work social media, by doing the same thing you do every day in your terrestrial campaign?

We have seen campaigns set up profiles on every network they could find and do nothing more than throw endless requests for donations out there and hope for the best.

This is a total waste of time, time that could be spent prospecting for new supporters and working with your constituents face to face.  That is why we have created our e-Campaign Team.

I know some candidates who think that social media and the Internet will replace face to face contact, the reality is it won’t. However the very same principles you use face to face, apply to social media, the only difference being the method of delivery.

So I need all of you to help me with my e-Campaign so I can focus on that face to face interaction as well as the social media application.

I know of some major candidates who have launched their social strategy with profiles on this site and that network, yet their sites are full of their staff members or family members congratulating themselves on such forward progress. But where is the citizen?, where is the engagement factor?, where is the interaction with the people that count the most, your constituents?

THAT IS WHERE YOU COME IN MY FRIENDS.

We need your help to create the local expert, the trusted advisory role, create and engage our community and to provide information and advice for the long term.

Why do people interact within social network sites like Twitter and Facebook in the first place? Is it to get my latest campaign update or promise? No, No, No, they are here to connect, to engage and interact with other like minded people, to share experiences, to share activities and create a sense of community and to stay in touch with family and friends.

I understand this and I know full well many of you understand it better than I. As a result I am seeking your help to work with me and really maximize the return on our investment of time in creating a social media strategy for you and I.

So what is the best way to approach a social media strategy?

We need your help to focus our e-Campaign on how you and I along with my campaign can help other people, being the guy to call when requiring a change or having a legislative concern and raising the profile of our mutual concerns and my campaign on the web.

We have completed the first step, by creating accounts on various networks such as:

Facebook,Twitter, and YouTubeWe are checking in to see where we fit in to the community, uploading content and adding all of our contacts into our social networks and starting a routine of regularly adding “friends” to our pages.  If you already have established networks we ask that you perform this same routine. Make use of your established networks and invite ALL of your friends across all platforms to join the Konopnicki Community across all of our platforms.

Our goal and we hope your goal is to get your personal contacts engaged and to start to follow and engaging with other locals to help us build a strong online presence, not just for this campaign but for all we do in the future for our great state.

We ask you to build a schedule so that you can allocate time each week for this e-Campaign Team project. If you can contribute 2 hours of your time per week you can have a HUGE impact on our campaign.  If all you have is 5, 10 or 15 minutes a day or week . . .that is still a great help and we are more than happy to have you aboard!

It’s great to have a Facebook page but even better when you have a dozen, a hundred or even a thousand Facebook pages along with your entire online presence and online friends (Just like you!) working for you; you are in a win win situation.

A little bit about what we will be doing via online strategy etc.

(we are ALWAYS open for suggestions and ideas!)

Constant updates and interaction is absolute KEY and will set us apart, that is where the e-Campaign Team comes in.  Leaving comments on articles, popular sites around the District and around the State.  Writing letters to the editor, to radio, TV, to local bloggers.  Inviting ALL OF YOUR CONTACTS and FRIENDS from your social network profiles.

1. Blogs

If you already have an established blog of your own, or you have an established blog on another

social network please link to our campaign websites and social profiles on your blog.  You can blog about your work with the campaign and re-post our articles and content and cross post your articles with links here at our Konopnicki Community.

We will even work with you to provide original content directly from our campain just for your blog.  If you are new to blogging, you can create a blog for free at WordPress.com and be bloggin in only a few minutes! Remember, with your blog comes responsibility, you’ll need to add content to it regularly in order for it to be read so set aside some time.  Or you can blog right here on our Konopnicki Community site!!  Either way, cross-promote and link!

Blogs have become a great tool for social media marketing. They drive traffic to websites,

create internal links, fresh content and engage communities.

2. Microblogging

Probably the best example of microbloggin is Twitter. Twitter has exploded in popularity and usage in recent months. If you don’t have a Twitter account you can set one up for free and be a tweeting fool literally in seconds!  We have also integrated Twitter with our Konopnicki Community websites so you are able to update your status or Tweet about the campaign right from your “MyPage”.  Please Visit Twitter Page and Re-Tweet our Tweets on a daily basis if you are able. Recruit friends to add us or “follow” us on Twitter.  When posting about Bill or The campaign use any or all of the Following Hashtags: #AZLD5 #Kono4AZ #TCOT #Arizona

3. Online video

Online video has proven to be an invaluable tool to candidates and campaigns. It is cost effective, sometimes completely free and can create astonishing “buzz”.  How many silly vidoes have you

watched over the past year that went viral with thousands, tens of thousands or even millions of hits/views?  Create your own videos expressing your support of Bill Konopnicki and upload them here on our Konopnicki Community site, Upload them to YouTube and link to our community. Create your own “campaign ads” and post them on your social-networks as well as ours!

4. Photosharing

Once again, Social media is all about sharing!   Upload your photos to our community and share your volunteer experiences throughout the campaign!

5. Blogtalk Radio and Podcasting

A great tool for sharing and distributing information is Podcasting or Blogtalk
radio. These are free (there are also paid versions) tools that provide a level of interactivity and participation without taking up valuable time.  If you have your own BlogTalk Radio or Terrestrial Radio program please email us at info@billkonopnicki.com and schedule an appearance.  You can also utilize your Blogtalk radio or Podcasts to re-play our ads, appearances or simply to add your own commentary about and in support of our campaign.

6. Social networks: applications, fan pages, groups, and personalities

THEY HAVE TO BE CONSTANTLY UPDATED, MONITORED and INTERACTIVE.  We need your help to keep our community and all of our social network profiles and communities engaged!

7. Bookmarking/Tagging Social bookmarking is also another great tool and again free! This is a Fantastic way for people online to share, organize, search, manage bookmarks and promote our online campaign.  Some of the more popular social bookmarking websites include: Delicious, Digg, Diigo, Fark, Mixx, MyBlogLog, Newsvine, Propeller, Reddit, Slashdot, StumbleUpon, Yahoo! Buzz. These can become VERY influential in our over-all online presence.  So please, if you see a link to share our site, profile or one of our articles, vidoes etc on any of the networks please take a couple of seconds and do this.  We are going to rely heavily on the e-Campaign Team to do this on a daily basis!

9. Discussion boards and forums

Online forums are a great way engage the community, express yourself and interact

with other people operating online. It also enables us as a campaign to engage our audience in niche forums which can bring high value to our site and campaign.  If you are already a member of email-forums, forums or discussion boards, please take the time to link to our sites and cross promote our campaign in your discussions.  Recruit other like minded people to do the same!

10. Campaign monitoring

As I mentioned at the very start of this page one way or another our campaign will be impacted by social-media.  Without your help we can not monitor our over-all online

presence and have a positive impact.

11. Ratings and reviews

Online Polls, Opinion forums, comments on articles or blog posts, rating on sites like Digg, Delicious etc etc. or even rating or voting up comments and articles on websites and blogs, Are all ways you can help raise our online presence.

12. Widgets

Widgets and links are also another helpful and free tool we can make use of.  You can get your own network badge right off this site that you can drop onto any other social network or website you are a member of.  You can also do the same with our other social media/network profiles.
